5 Charities To Donate To For North Texas Giving Day
A few months back, Still Jamie partnered with a local ministry (Against The Odds) to serve over a hundred Dallas residents affected by homelessness. It was so amazing and emotional to watch so many people in need get the help they so desperately need. You can find some pics on my IG. This Thursday, September 20th, North Texans all over will be giving back and donating to nonprofits, individuals, and fundraisers all to better our community. Here are 5 charities to donate to for North Texas Giving Day!
Children’s Health – Children’s is a pioneer in pediatric care nationwide. By giving to this foundation you’re enabling them to continue providing patient’s with the best care for years to come! Money goes toward new technology, clinical trials, and programs to help ease the burden of the families who are there for extended stays.
Shiloh Place – This is an organization that focuses on empowering and equipping single mothers and their children. Money from your donation will go towards educational and spiritual classes, financial assistance, emotional counseling and more. As a single mother, this is amazing for women to have support that’s not only helping them but equipping them to be healthier, happier individuals.
Dallas After School – Growing up in Oak Cliff, a lot of the trouble kids got into was after school out of sheer boredom. D.A.S. focuses on improving the quality, safety and availability of the after school programs offered in Dallas. Roughly 14,000 kids attend these programs, isn’t that insane?! Your donation will go towards continuing the nonprofits mission as well as training program staff to make sure kids are getting the highest quality of care.
Parkland Foundation – Okay so disclaimer, I was born at Parkland and I have an innate pride about it. Parkland is one of the best public hospitals in the nation and an amazing resource for those who are uninsured or need low cost care. Donations will go to improving the extensive programs that Parkland offers to it’s patients including transportation, financial assistance, and more.
Resource Center – Since 1983 this nonprofit has been providing programs for the LGBTQ+ community and services that aid people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. Donations will go towards continuing to provide critical medical assistance to ill patients and emotional/financial/mental health support to the LGBTQ+ community. More than 600,000 a year benefit from the programs provided by the Resource Center!
