Super Easy 3 Ingredient D.I.Y. Mask For Natural Hair

This super easy 3 ingredient DIY hair mask for natural hair is the answer to your natural dreams! It uses products you probably have at home already and only take a few minutes to put together. Keep reading for the ingredients to this godsend of a hair mask.

The Ingredients

  • Avocado

Avocado is the perfect natural hair moisturizer due to the high amount of good fatty acids it contains. Not only is avo packed with healthy fats, it’s also full of vitamins B, K, E, and C, as well as copper and potassium. Vitamin B is a MUST HAVE for any one trying to grow longer, natural hair. Healthy hair growth is completely dependent on a maintaining a healthy scalp and avo is great for that! Vitamin E is great for damaged hair, it helps replace the damaged layer of your hair and gives you shiny, healthy hair. So basically avocado is the perfect base for an effective natural hair mask, plus it acts as a sunscreen for your hair!

*TIP* if you suffer from dandruff, adding a little avocado to your shampoo or conditioner will help!*

  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil

E.V.O.O. is full of antioxidants that protect your hair from the day-to-day damage it’s exposed too. We all know that a healthy scalp = healthy hair. Due to it’s strengthening and moisturizing properties, E.V.O.O. is a major key for stimulating hair growth. Most deep treatments and products contain olive oil because it’s the TRUTH. Olive oil moisturizes, strengthens, and softens hair. It can also do wonders for split ends which is a major key if you have naturally curly hair.

*Olive oil is full of great fats like avo making it the perfect base for any moisturizing hair mask.*

  • Whole Egg

If you don’t already, you should add egg into your hair regimen because it has so many different benefits. So if you have super oily hair, egg whites will help level out your oil production. If you have super dry, brittle hair egg yolks can moisturize your scalp and hair. Eggs are packed with vitamins A and E. Biotin and folate can be found in the yolk of an egg as well, pretty much making it a hair super food. There is a ton of protein found in eggs as well, however, they are too big to penetrate our hair shaft so not particularly useful for this mask.

*Egg encourages the production of sebum resulting in a moisturized scalp and healthier, stronger hair!*

So we’ve got our hair mask all mixed and ready to go, now all we’ve got to do is apply it to our gorgeous locks!

  1. De-tangle + section CLEAN hair. (sectioning hair will ensure it’s evenly applied throughout.)
  2. Apply hair mask to scalp and hair.
  3. Comb mask through hair. (I love doing this as it really ensures the mask is penetrating each stand and not just clumps of hair.)
  4. Wait 10-15 minutes. (wash the dishes, paint your toes, do some crunches, whatever floats your boat.)
  5. Rinse with cold water and style, if desired.
