Things To Do In Dallas (4th of July)

Happy Independence Day weekend everyone! The 4th of July falls on a Wednesday this year but there are a ton of things to do in Dallas this weekend to celebrate our precious freedom! 

 

 

Things To Do In Dallas For 4th of July 

 

Pancakes and Booze Deep Ellum (6/30/18) – Body painting, live music, live art, and FREE pancakes! A ton of up and coming artists will have their art available for purchase at this event. The show is being held at Deep Ellum Art Co. and is strictly 21+. The tickets start at $15 and can be bought online!

Queer Bomb (6/30/18) – June is PRIDE month, YAY!! Although Dallas’s big parade is much later in the year, Queer Bomb is a great way to celebrate Pride with your LGBTQIA fam! Everyone meets at Main Street Garden then it’s time for the parade/rally! There will be speakers and local entertainers, gay vendors, and more to celebrate the spirit of pride! The party will move to Deep Ellum so bring your tutu’s, glitter, and all the sass!

Red, White and Boom (7/3/18) – Hosted by KLUV, this is a community event for the whole family! Food trucks, live music, and fireworks off the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge. The fireworks with the Dallas skyline in the back make for a beautiful show!

Southlake’s: Stars and Stripes (7/3/18) – Don’t want to venture into the city for fireworks? Southlake host their annual 4th of July celebration at 3 different parks. This is a family friendly event and you’re welcome to bring water, blankets, and non-alcoholic beverages to enjoy! Oh, and it’s FREE!

Five on the Fourth @ Klyde Warren (7/4/18) – To benefit the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas, BMW Dallas Marathon is hosting a race in downtown Dallas! There is going to be a 5-mile race, 2-mile walk, and a 2-mile dog walk for people of all ages to patrcipate in. There is also going to be face painting, balloon artists, and music! It’s not too late to sign up!

Addison Kaboom Town -(7/4/18) Addison’s yearly 4th of July celebration featuring food, beer, games, live music, and fireworks! This is a fun, FREE event for the whole family to enjoy but beware, it gets crowded FAST so get there early to get a good spot. Bring chairs, blankets, and even a cooler

Fair Park Fourth (7/4/18) – Dallas’s Fair Park opens up to celebrate America’s birthday in style! The Midway, where all of the games are, will be open as well as the food vendors. FRIED SNICKERS Y’ALL, yes please! The event is free and so are some of the activities inside while others require tickets that can be purchased online or on site!

Places To Drink In Dallas For 4th of July 

 

Franconia Brewing Freedom Fest (6/30/18) – Based in McKinney, Franconia Brewing Co will host their annual Independence Day bash! Featuring brewery tours, beer, live music, and Hutchin’s BBQ, yum! Tickets are $25 and kids under 12 are free!

Noble Rey’s: Red, White, and Brew (6/30/18) – It’s that time again, to be surrounded by fellow beer lovers and enjoy some dank BBQ! Tickets are $20 and include 3 beers plus a pint glass to take home!

Summer Sundaze (7/1/18 AND 7/4/18) – Hosted at W Hotel this event is strictly for those 21 & up. There will be a live DJ, signature cocktails, and a whole lot of partying going on to bring in the holiday! Tickets are $20 and there are bottle service and reserved table options available!

Merica the Beer-tiful (7/3/18/) – Texas Ale Project is hosting their annual Independence Day party again! Admission is free and there is going to be food available for purchase supplied by Cuates Kitchen. Of course, beer, games, and fireworks will also be included in the festivities! Definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for a laid back but still social vibe.

Libertine Bar (7/4/18) – The Libertine Bar is hosting their 10th Annual corn dog eating contest in celebration of the 4th of July! The entry is free and on top of corn dogs, the bar will have their full food and drink menus available. Up for grabs is a $100 gift card for 1st place, $50 for 2nd place, and $25 for 3rd! Registration is open up until 30 minutes before the competition begins.

Red, White, and Booze (7/4/18) – A new addition to the Deep Ellum scene, Harlowe has been well received by locals. They have arguably one of the best patios in Dallas and will be a great place to watch the fireworks happening over by the bridge. Food and drink specials will last all day long, including some special frozen (alcoholic) bomb pops! Kids are okay until the fireworks are finished but after it will be strictly for 21+.

Drink The Flag Party (7/4/18) – The Rustic is hosting an event to benefit the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation created to honor vets, first responders, and those close to them. There will be a full menu, full bar (credit and cash bars) and live music. You can donate to the beer flag and 100% of the proceeds will go to the foundation. Party for a good cause!

As you can see, the city is excited to celebrate America’s birthday! I hope you all have an amazing holiday weekend. Please don’t drink and drive!
